To the right you’ll see several local activities that are available and it’s recommended that you have a reservation for or schedule in advance. You’ll find the appropriate phone numbers and links to do so there!

Boat slips are available to reserve with High Mountain Sports, just down the hill from The Little Fox Den. Remember that trailers are not allowed to be parked at the condo so you'll need to drop your boat in at Deep Creek Lake State Park and park your trailer there for the duration of your stay.

Pontoon Boat Tours of Deep Creek Lake are available through High Mountain Sports and reserving your seats is recommended.

High Mountain Sports offers single & Tandem Kayaks, Paddle Boards, Tube Rentals and Wakeboards & Waterskis it is recommended that you reserve your rentals in advance.

Wisp offers simulated white water rafting and kayaking available by reservation on the weekends. You'll want to reach out to them for all the info and scheduling.

Autumn Glory at Deep Creek Lake Lavender Farm
Come by and sip some lavender mulled cider and munch on Lavender Shortbread and our infamous Pumpkin Snickerdoodles while you shop for your favorite lavender products. Get a head start on your holiday shopping or just enjoy selecting something for yourself. If the weather is nice take time to sit in the rockers or enjoy the deck. This is the last weekend we are open for the season, so come by and get your favorite lavender things! It is never to early for Christmas shopping!

Description
Join us For the 1st Annual Lake and Leaf Shuffle! This is a 6 mile looped Trail Race with the option of running 1 or 2 loops in the trails at Deep Creek Lake State Park in Western Maryland. The race is Oct 5th, typically, right in the middle of prime Fall Foliage. Hundreds of trails in the surrounding area and an awesome lakefront getaway spot for the weekend, makes this the perfect place to bring the whole family! The dual purpose of this race is to bring more awareness to the areas trail systems and those who help with the conservation of our local forests!

Mountain State Brewing Company Deep Creek Maryland
Join us Oct. 4th at Mountain State Brewing Company in Deep Creek for live music and beer at the packet pickup! All registered participants will receive one Beer Ticket to claim from the brewery which offers a wide selection of options to choose from! Don't worry if you can't make it Friday night, your ticket will be redeemable all weekend! We're also going to do awards and have more music at the Brewery Saturday after the race is finished!

Many of the wines may not be available for sale in your area and you won’t find these private-label special-blend bourbons anywhere else BUT you can purchase them all in our on-premise store! Soup N' Santa
Soup N’ Santa will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m. to noon. There will be multiple nonprofits handing out free soup (donations are appreciated), and there will be a chance to visit with Santa.
Soup N’ Santa also will include kids activities, live music, sleigh rides, local shopping and store specials and more. You can also bring your pets for visits with Santa.
Candle Dipping Workshop
Gather around the wax pot and take turns hand-dipping cotton wick to create your own set of beeswax taper candles! Hand-dipping candles is a rhythmic process of dipping cotton wick into hot wax, over and over, slowly building layer upon layer. Learn how beeswax is made and why it’s the best type of wax to burn in candles. Additional dipping tapers will be available for purchase for $10 on the day of the event.

Holiday Walking Light Parade & Light Up Night

Light Up Night on Friday, Dec. 8, at the Oakland B&O Museum.
Light Up Night will start with a Walking Holiday Light Parade, led by Santa Claus, starting at the Town Parking Lot at 5:30 p.m. All are invited to participate in the walking parade as it makes its way to the B&O Museum for the official tree lighting. Bring your own parade entry, as the only requirement is to make it festive.
Festival Of Trees
Join us for Garrett County’s holiday kick-off event, the Festival of Trees, Nov. 24 & 25, 2023! Over the years, this cheerful, affordable family event has become a tradition for thousands of locals, as well as visitors to the County. Benefiting the Dove Center, Garrett County’s domestic violence and sexual assault services program, the Festival of Trees was developed by their Board and Staff, to serve as the organization’s major fundraiser.
